Mae Marvelle is in the process of writing her first book, a memoir about her journey with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

goodbye, sunrise

goodbye sunrise,

now we live in the darkness of the sky

where the moon howls and the lonely cry

where the broken down wonder why

everything around us is falling apart

from the buildings and towers to this slightly damaged heart

i thought nothing could make us part

goodbye sunrise,

look at this mess we've made

the crash came fast, we shouldn't have stayed

but you were never one i could persuade

we should fight for each other

rather than fight one another

despite all the secrets we have uncovered

goodbye sunrise,

maybe we'll meet someday again

but only god knows when

until then we can try

i never knew it would be so hard to say goodbye,

sunrise
