Mae Marvelle is in the process of writing her first book, a memoir about her journey with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Unstable

Well she said your life is too unstable

and that's why you are so unable

to find happiness on your own.

So we'll fix you with a stronger pill

and when you're not better still

drown yourself in drugs and alcohol.

Cause happiness is an altered state

something that you can create

with the proper mix of chemicals.

Pretty soon you will forget

all the things hard to admit

and you'll lose who you are.

It's not until you hit the wall

that you're able to stand at all

and realize the lies you've been told.

You know that your life is too unstable

but you know you will be able

to find happiness on your own.
